Registering for Honours Classes 2014 - 2015
This year, the number of offered Honours Classes has increased greatly. Honours classes are short interdisciplinary courses worth 5 credit points (EC).
The Honours Academy will organise 11 of the Honours Classes and the 16 remaining classes will be offered by the university faculties. The classes are held during both semesters and in the summer. You can register for a class until 1 September.
A few of the classes will be a cooperation with the Delft University of Technology and Erasmus University Rotterdam. Students from these universities are also invited to participate in these specific classes.
In this clip (in Dutch), students and lecturers explain why they are keen to participate in or organise an Honours Class.
The classes’ subjects are very diverse and range from Negotiating and Conflict Management to Cybersecurity and Obesity. The language spoken in the classes is mostly English because leading international scientists are often invited as guest lecturers.
The Honours Classes are intended for Honours College students, Leiden University College students and other well-performing students. Students who finish an Honours Class but who do not participate in an Honours College track will receive an Honours Class certificate.
